Jahna hkeeli حكيلي (hkeeli meaning tell me in arabic) was my mother’s way of expressing her absolute love of listening to my stories and me explaining about events. She would sit at home and wait for me to come over. The first thing she would say to me is Jahna hkeeli حكيلي.
My mother Cleo left us very early in an untimely car accident 30 years ago. I can still hear her voice saying these words “hkeeli حكيلي” and we would sit for hours exchanging stories. Therefore, as a tribute to her memory, I want to use this phrase in a very essential part in my blog. In it, I will be regaining my old favorite habit of telling stories both old and new, but this time, I am so happy that it will be to all of you.
I truly hope you enjoy reading them as my mother did.
